About Vrbo (from the store)

“The Vrbo affiliate program, part of the expansive Expedia Group partner ecosystem, offers content creators and travel marketers a way to monetize vacation rental traffic. Vrbo distinguishes itself in the short-term rental market by focusing exclusively on "whole homes," catering to families and groups seeking private space without shared common areas. This specialization often results in higher average booking values compared to standard hotel sites, providing a significant advantage for affiliates earning percentage-based commissions. Affiliates can access the program through multiple channels, including the Expedia Group Creator Program and major third-party networks like CJ Affiliate and Travelpayouts. The direct program typically provides the most competitive terms, offering up to a 6% commission rate and a 30-day cookie window. Third-party network implementations may offer lower rates, often ranging from 1.5% to 4%, with shorter 7-day cookie durations. Because Vrbo operates as an Online Travel Agency (OTA), tracking is sophisticated, ensuring partners receive credit for any booking made within the tracking window, not just the specific property linked in the original recommendation. Payments follow a standard travel industry model where commissions are validated only after the guest has completed their stay. This prevents issues with cancellations or no-shows. Once a trip is finished, there is typically a validation period of 60 to 150 days before funds are cleared for payout. Partners have access to a suite of promotional tools including deep-linking capabilities to over 2 million properties, interactive search widgets that can be embedded into blogs, and professional banner creative. The program is particularly well-suited for travel bloggers, review sites, and lifestyle influencers who focus on family travel, group getaways, or luxury home rentals.”
